The Wolfman

I had some high expectations of this movie because of the cast lineup. Unfortunately it fell flat even with all the big names. Slightly cheesy at times and just not as good as it could have been.

Holy Smokes!

A quick run down of the last week
Day1: Fly to L.A. and walked all over the place with Stacey D

Day2: Walked around more and discover The Coffee Bean's Holiday Dream Tea Latte...thanks to Stacey D then spent the evening in Redondo Beach at Old Tony's. It was an awesome seafood place...again thanks to Stacey D.

Day3: Day off with Clay. Lots of sleeping and then dinner with Ken and Josh at an awesome spot in West Hollywood.
Umami Burger

Day4: More sleeping...followed by the nominee reception at The Wilshire Ebell Theater

We then had an amazing dinner at Sky Bar in Hollywood.

Day5: Grammy Day!! So we had our hair done, then our make-up done, then we were taken in a Limo to the Grammy's! I saw celebrity after celebrity. The show was amazing to watch in person and the guys won Best New Artist. It was an insane day and very memorable.

Day6: Whoopi praises Clay's voice on national TV on The View!!! The guys were all over the TV, in all the papers, and all of our phones never stopped ringing!

That Evening Sun

Hal Holbrook is awesome in this movie. He plays an aging farmer in Tennessee who's son has placed him in an old folks home. He decides to leave and head back to his farm after three months of feeling lonely and live out his life as he wishes. When he returns home he finds that his lawyer son has rented his place to the town drunk and his family...see the movie to find out how the story goes! It's worth seeing just to see Holbrook at his finest.

The Fantastic Mr. Fox

Clay and I were both pleasantly surprised. As quoted from Clay's blog "Wes Anderson has a style all his own. I suggest it for all ages as well." It was even better due to the fact we saw it at The Plaza Theater which just celebrated it's 70th anniversary. I love that place and if you would like to support it www.PlazaAtlanta.com The movie was just downright cute and funny. Roald Dahl wrote some amazing children's tales!

I'm not so good at this

So I just took notice that I am not a very good writer and I don't at all tell you what the movies are about that I see...I only share how much or how little I liked them ;-) More of an opinion review than anything. I need to work on actually telling you a little bit about the movie!!! My bad!

Crazy Heart

Oh my, oh my, do I love me some Jeff Bridges!!! This was a great film with spot on acting. Jeff Bridges might as well be his character Bad Blake...it was that believable. Maggie Gyllenhaal was wonderful as always. The story is a little heavy on the heart but the ending is sweet. If you are a traveling musician of any kind then this is a must see.
(Bridges won a golden globe this past Sunday for his performance)

The Lovely Bones

I read the book so I knew what the hell was going on and what everyone was thinking. Clay on the other hand did not read the book and said he did not feel the movie/story was very cohesive. We both agreed that the writers interpretation was a little off and not very fluid. The cinematography was amazing!!! I liked it better than Avatar because it was so creative. I would see the movie again just for all the cool shots. Oh and Stanley Tucci's performance was killer!!! He is one of my favorite actors and this part was really a breakthrough for him.
Read the book because as always the book trumps the movie.
